Friday 25 January 2013 : Syamsir Alam on loan to DC United
Syamsir Alam is the first Indonesian player to evolve in the Major League Soccer (MLS) because he is on loan during one year to DC United (Washington) with buying option for 3 years. He will go to the United States in a fortnight.
Arrived in January 2012 in Belgium, Syamsir Alam was part of the starting XI during the match in Antwerp, two weeks only after his arrival. He played a little bit more than one hour. The results of his physical tests, done at the beginning of January, demonstrated that the player had to work his endurance.
An individual program has then been established and the player was able to feel the joy of making part of the first-team in April in Roulers, playing again during 60 minutes.
Alam has also participated in three matches during the last six weeks of competition. During this second half of the championship, Syamsir Alam played 231 minutes.
During the first round of the championship 2012-2013, Sysamsir Alam made almost every week part of the of the 18 players registered in the composition of the team. He entered in five matches during the first 11 championship matches. Unfortunately, when he was ready to join the starting XI, he got injured during training. Dislocation of the shoulder. End of the first round!
Since he is back from Indonesia, after the winter break, Alam continued its efforts and marked the spirits of the scouts of DC United (Washington) during his resumption with U21. He registered two goals, playing as offensive midfielder, his favorite position.
Syamsir Alam has a very good overview of the field, a good technique and a good passing. His passage in Europe will have allowed him to progress very physically and to become, at 20 years old, a safe bet for the Indonesian football.
He is now in top form to take up the MLS challenge.
Before arriving in Visé, Syasmir Alam trained during three seasons in Deportivo Indonesia, the training center created by the Bakrie family in Uruguay, where all the Indonesian talents are gathered. He was top scorer in 2008 (16 goals) and in 2009 (14 goals). He pursued his training within the club of Peñarol, team of the Uruguayan first division.
Syamsir Alam trained in the Netherlands, in Heerenveen and Vitesse in 2006, the year during which he was selected in U23. He was only 14 years old!
International in the youth teams since U11, he participated in the qualifications for the Asian Cup in 2007 and 2009 (4 goals in 4 matches). He has moreover the record of the fastest goal in the qualifications of Asian Cup with a goal made after … 16 seconds. He is now part of the U23 and has been called by the national team.
CS Visé thanks Syamsir Alam for its professionalism during this year spent in the Club and we wish him good luck.
“Syamsir is a young, attacking midfielder with good technical ability, and we look forward to having him on loan with us,” said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper.
